High-tech fertility gadgets to get pregnant
In the sea of period trackers, there are also gadgets you can use to get pregnant.
Preface: I never used these myself, but there are three fertility gadgets that use slightly different approaches:
Ava Bracelet, an ovulation tracker that you wear on your wrist while you sleep and sync up with your phone in the morning. (If it looks familiar, it’s because you’ve seen Khloé Kardashian touting its benefits in sponsored posts on her social media.
EarlySense Percept, a “contactless” device that you store under your mattress to monitor your fertility cycle
The Mira AI monitor, which essentially combines hormonal information from multiple urine tests.
Do you really need high-tech fertility gadgets to get pregnant? No! But this all comes to personal preference and I am happy there are tech devices and multiple apps out there that can aid in conception. So let's get to the nitty gritty!
Keep in mind: The best time to conceive is right before a person ovulates, or releases an egg. Because internal body temperature fluctuates during the menstrual cycle, many people take their temperature each day to figure out where they are in the cycle. With that said, tracking temperature can be helpful for people who have particularly long or abnormal menstrual cycles.
Ava Bracelet: Ava is a wearable ovulation tracker that you wear on your wrist while you sleep. It monitors your skin temperature, resting pulse rate, breathing rate, heart rate variability ratio and your sleep. According to Ava, tracking these different variables can help more accurately predict when a woman will ovulate, which is hugely important for women who are trying to conceive.
EarlySense Percept:The selling point of the Percept? You can track temperature — and in turn... fertility — without actually needing to do anything at all. It’s is a slim white device that looks like a scale. Slide it under your mattress, and it will measure heart rate, breathing rate, and heart rate variability.
That information is then fed to an algorithm. Because heart rate is correlated with temperature during the menstrual cycle, the founders say that its AI will tell you the best time to conceive, and keep making adjustments to get smarter. But don't worry, they also say that it shouldn’t pick up information from your bed partner.
The Mira AI monitor: By combining hormonal and menstrual pattern tracking with a learning algorithm, Mira Fertility shapes the app’s capabilities to the individual rather than providing static facts based only on one or two pieces of information. The Mira Analyzer measures actual hormone concentrations. This provides personalized fertility insights based on this data and helps you time exactly when you should try to conceive. No more missed peaks. No more hard to read, inaccurate Over the Counter Fertility/Ovulation tests.
