iPhone 17e — First Look. Worth It?
Not everyone needs to spend a thousand dollars on a phone. And Apple knows that — which is exactly why they made this. The iPhone 17e just launched, I've had it for a week, and I want to give you my honest first impressions. Full review is coming soon, but here's what you need to know right now.
WHAT IS IT?
This is the second phone in Apple's "e" lineup — basically their more affordable iPhone line. The idea is simple: real iPhone experience, real Apple features, without the flagship price. It starts at $599, comes in Blush Pink, Black, and White, and honestly? It looks and feels like a proper iPhone. Nobody's going to know it cost less.
THE UPGRADES
The biggest win this year? MagSafe. The 16e didn't have it, people complained, Apple listened. Now all your magnetic chargers, wallets, and car mounts work just like on the regular iPhones. Huge upgrade.
It also runs on the A19 chip — same as the rest of the iPhone 17 lineup — and starts at 256GB of storage, which is double what last year's model offered at the same price. Fast, snappy, no complaints there.
CAMERA
Camera keeps it simple — one main lens. No ultra-wide, no Dual Capture, no Center Stage. But after a week of testing, photos are sharp, colors are great, and low light holds up better than I expected. For everyday life, social media, FaceTime? It does the job.
WHO'S IT FOR?
This is a genuinely great entry-level iPhone. Perfect if you're switching from Android, upgrading from an older iPhone, or honestly — it might be the best first phone you could give a kid. Fast, capable, everything they need, nothing too extra.
I've only had it a week so this is just my first take — full in-depth review dropping soon. But so far? Solid phone. Real iPhone energy, without the real iPhone price. Subscribe so you don't miss the deep dive. See you there.
