Smart Video Lock Doorbell Review: Eufy
Most people would use a smart lock and a doorbell to secure their home, but obviously I had to install mine in my office-- there's just too many valuables and tech in there. I got the first reveal of this exciting new Eufy Video Smart Lock, launching now on a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. Check out my review:
This is a 3-in-1 video, camera and lock and it’s all set up and I’ve been using it for the past month. This device is such an interesting smart lock and i don't want you guys to be fooled by this tiny black box– but what's inside this thing is actually really impressive and there are a lot of features, from enhanced motion detection to a 2K Full HD quality camera, .3S fast fingerprint unlocking, so it’s totally acceptable not to have keys on you anymore – but well get into the specs.
One of the things I love so much about using the Eufy security video smart lock is how much it gives me peace of mind when it comes to security safety– This is a doorbell that most people would install in their front door, but you know i need to keep all my tech gadgets safe and secure in my office. I have a lot and I mean a lot of valuable tech in my office and people coming in and out of my office taking things. Ehem my husband, my 3 year old– so I decided to install it here. The install was really easy, but I had my handyman take care of it.
So back to security- this device gives me complete peace of mind by protecting your home, family and privacy . The eufy Security is also top notch, with local storage, a dedicated security chip to military-grade encryption, so my data is be for my eyes only. A huge win.
So the great thing about this, there’s always a constant set of surveillance eyes on my goods. Wherever I am, I can see who's at my front door with a powerful 2K camera. You can literally notice every detail. The 160° large field-of-view is shown in a 4:3 format and makes spying kind of enjoyable. Sometimes ut’s fun to just peep around.
The Wide Dynamic Range technology makes the video clear even on the brightest days, and at night it’s easy to seem there are 4 infrared lights ensure you'll see anyone at night.
And with the additional filter of Human Detection, you'll only get notifications when it matters. Plus, the extra sensitivity of Loitering Detection enables you to act fast if a porch pirate is wandering around your property.
It comes with enhanced motion detection, so you can see who is entering and exiting and even get notifications. I caught my videographer taking my phone charger. Ok fine it was a joke, but holly molly, it’s a game changer– I can also let people in and out through the app, even if I’m not at home.
I also love how I can Unlock my door with a touch of my finger, seriously it’s like my spy fantasies and alone time fantasies come to life - I open the door with my finger (like magic), so fast it recognized my finger in .3 seconds and then go to my tech cave for alone time.
But i think my favorite feature is Auto-Lock. I don’t know about you, but I can count on many occasions when I forget to lock the door behind me. I think this feature was meant for me. And if you need to pop outside quickly, simply set a countdown to keep your door unlocked for up to 3 minutes.
I love the live-view because you can see what is happening in real time, but you also can store any recordings without paying a single subscription fee—securing your home and your wallet.
By now you know, I love technology and I love smart homes, everything in my home is smart– i was just missing a smart lock. But what I love even more is when the smart home is simplified. I mean is there anything better than all my connected devices and appliances that working seamlessly together, um no nothing, but Eufy is doing a great job of that.
