Trying a Wearable Vagus Nerve Stimulator for Stress & Nervous System Regulation

A Wearable… For Your Brain…

I don’t know about you, but my nervous system is shot.

My brain has 87 tabs open, a few of them are frozen, one of them is playing music I can’t find, and my body is somehow expected to function normally on an average of 6 hours of sleep and pure willpower.

So instead of trying another meditation app I already know I won’t consistently use, I found something different.

It’s called Nuropod, it’s a wearable vagus nerve stimulator.

This is my first time trying it, and I’m going to actually test it out properly and see if it makes any difference over time instead of just doing a one-off impression.

You clip this tiny device onto your ear and it sends gentle electrical signals designed to stimulate your vagus nerve, which basically plays a major role in your stress response, sleep, recovery, and overall nervous system regulation.

So instead of telling your brain to relax… it’s designed to help your body get there first.

And that’s what makes it interesting to me.

Because most of the things we do for stress right now require effort. You have to sit down. You have to be consistent. You have to remember to do it when you’re already overwhelmed, which is kind of the problem in the first place.

This is different.

What Makes This Different?

You clip it on like an earbud, turn it on, and just go about your day. No sitting still, no breathing exercises, no routine overhaul, no trying to “be better” at relaxing.

The goal is to shift your body into that “rest and digest” state automatically, so you’re not constantly stuck in fight-or-flight, which as a working mom I almost always am.

And honestly, that part really stood out to me.

Because it’s not asking me to add another habit to my already overloaded life. It’s just sitting in the background, doing its thing while I do everything else.

And I think that’s where tech is headed.

Less obsession with productivity hacks and more systems that quietly regulate your nervous system in the background. Because when your body is actually regulated, productivity isn’t something you force… it just happens more naturally.

Right now, everything is very “optimize your life, track your habits, fix your routine, build your morning stack,” and it’s exhausting.

But there’s something interesting about tools that don’t require more discipline from you. Just support your baseline state so you’re not constantly running on stress fumes.

And let’s be honest, I don’t need another app or hack.

I just need my body to chill.

So I’ll be testing this out every day for the next month, just seeing how it feels day to day, what changes I notice, and whether it actually makes any difference in my stress levels or energy.

I’ll keep you updated on the progress as I go.
