A sweet new tech romance: Honey x PayPal
PayPal has a new Honey. The platform you use to pay for stuff online when getting up from the couch to retrieve your credit card sounds like some evil torture scenario has acquired Honey Science Corporation, the Chrome add-on that helps you get discounts via e-commerce shops, for a sweet $4 b(ee)illion (honey, bees, get it? Okay, moving on…).
Honey’s platform currently boasts 17 million monthly active users who use the tool to save $$ while splurging, which PayPal reportedly is looking to add to its own product line. “What’s exciting is that we can take the functionality Honey now offers — which is product discovery, price tracking, offers and loyalty — and build that into the PayPal and Venmo experiences,” explains PayPal SVP of Global Consumer Products and Technology, John Kunze. Which means a lot more sweet savings.
