Here’s What To Do If Your Instagram Gets Hacked

Instagram accounts are getting hacked and stolen EVERY DAY, here’s some tips to make sure that doesn’t happen to YOURS:

Tap your profile photo in the bottom right corner of your profile.  

Open the menu.

Then settings.

Then security.

Then “Log in activity”.  If you see a location or device you dont recognize...you could be in trouble.

Try to change your password.

Go to Settings.

Then security

Then password.

And check your email.  Look for an email telling you your email address has been changed from security@mail.instagram.com .  

If these steps worked, you’re still in control.

If NOT, on the IG login page click “Forgot Password” and you will see the email address and phone number currently associated with your account

Ask for a log-in link.  

Tap “I can’t access this email or phone number”, follow the prompts to submit a report request and they may ask you for a selfie video to verify your identity. 

Hopefully you’ll never have to deal with the nightmare of recovering your instagram account but in case you do…hopefully these steps help
