Get things done with these productivity apps

Wasting time? Guilty.

I battle distraction on a daily basis: A funny video on Tiktok. An interesting article on Twitter. An inbox full of 23801830218302 (read and unread) e-mails. Then Twitter again. After liking five pictures on Instagram in a row, I finally got to writing this post. Don’t judge!

SO many distractions, so little productivity. We all know if you  unplug it will help avoid online distractions, but your tech can also be a helpful productivity tool for simplifying tasks and organizing your work and personal life to stay on track

Don’t have a system in place for getting things done? Let me tell you how I manage to stay productive and get a massive amount of $hit done.

monday.com

Monday.com

Monday.com is a project management tool that helps manage tasks, track progresses and organize team works on an intuitive platform. I have found Monday.com extremely helpful during quarantine, it makes working from home a lot more seamless and tracks what each person is working on. Sometimes it gets difficult to align roles when the team isn't seeing each other in person everyday, but having an automated workflow from Monday.com can help ease the transition into working remotely.

Not to mention, the Monday.com platform is extremely easy to understand with flattering graphics. Monday.com also integrates existing management tools such as Zoom, Slack, Zendesk, and more, making working on the go even more seamless. They also offer their services for students too.

Calendly

Is there anything more annoying than going back and forth on email about setting up a time to “chat” or “touch base”? How about the fact that I don’t trust people who don’t know how to set up Calendar invites. Que: Calendly, is a scheduling tool that manages your calendar events, inboxes, and meetings. What makes Calendly so appealing is that it allows you to create and send an availability link when scheduling a meeting. Instead of going back and forth on an email trying to find the right time between each recipient, Calendly’s link will generate a list of your unique availabilities even to users who don’t use Calendly. It also recognizes and adapts to time differences with automated meeting reminders and Google Cal integrations.

dashlane

I never knew how necessary a password manager was until I actually had one. I used to always store my passwords on my notes (yikes, so reckless), but it was such a hassle going back and forth each time to update a password or digging for one. But also it was getting more difficult for me to share log-ins with the TechSesh team as TechSesh continues to expand. Instead of passing passwords through unsecure servers we have been using Dashlane, making log-ins much safer and faster across all web browsers..

On top of automating log-ins and storing passwords, Dashlane also  suggests strong and unique passwords to increase your digital security. Their patent technology guarantees your security and respects your privacy.

Cost: $4.99/month (premium)

Thank you to Dashlane for partnering with TechSesh on this - If you decide you would like to try Dashlane it’s free on your first device. When you want to upgrade to premium, use my code Jessica for 50% off.

pocket

If you’re wasting time reading articles, watching videos or browsing the web, when you really should be working— but don't want to lose the site, the  app lets you save directly from your browser, and return to it later (that’s once you’re finished with your tasks, of course).

Forest

Forest tracks your productivity and lets you visualize your progress in the form of a tree. If you stay focused for 30 minutes, the tree blooms fully; if you leave the app during that time period, the tree dies.

The goal is to eventually have a forest of trees that represents the hard work you put in.
