6 Items That Will Keep You Warm

Brr.  It’s cold in here. I said there must be some Toros In the atmosphere. Brr! It's cold in here. Ok! I will stop now, but man that was a good movie.

The chilly breeze has arrived in California and I’ve been going down the Amazon rabbit hole of heating gadgets. Living in Los Angeles, I’ve never thought twice to check on the heater because the weather is never too cold, but global warming has got us freezing early into November. Here are some of my favorite finds to keep yourself warm as Winter arrives.

1. Uniqlo Heattech

The first step to feeling warm and fuzzy is to become warm and fuzzy on your own. No, this isn’t some cliche Instagram page enforcing female independence, I literally mean--your body needs to be warm first before we jump into auxiliaries. Japanese brand, Uniqlo’s famous Heattech is known to trap heat while being ridiculously comfortable and seamless. Its fabric literally turns movement into heat! Uniqlo’s Heattech line comes as underwear basics to socks with affordable price points. Who knew you’d need to keep your bums warm too? I like layering their turtle necks under a nice coat, its fashionable and comfortable.

2. Dyson Hot + Cool Fan

Any Dyson item might cost you a month’s groceries (yikes) but their tech is worth every penny… including this one. Turning on your centralized heater can add up and triple the electricity price, instead invest in a fan that disperse heat only where you need it. The great thing about Dyson’s Hot + Cool Fan, like its name suggests, is that you can use it all year long because it has the ability to cool you down and warm you up while purifying the air. For mothers like Jess, Dyson fans are safer than traditional ones because there aren’t physical blades or visible heating elements that your baby might bump into.

3. Embr Wave Bracelet

I was sHoOkEd when I saw this one. A thermostat as a fashionable bracelet. Although its reviews haven’t been consistent, I’m persuaded by how cool the tech sounds! Maybe one day Jess will try it out and write a review for us. Embr Wave Bracelet is a metal bracelet that emits waves of heat or coolness to trick the surface of your skin into feeling warmer or cooler. Dr. Hui Zhang of UC Berkeley conducted a study on how the average female feels cold in an office setting because the office thermostat is typically set to the male comfort; women prefer temperatures 5 degrees higher than men. Embr Wave comes with an App too which allows you to control the desired temperature from your phone. Although the wave of temperatures won’t be able to shield you from a windstorm but it’ll definitely help when you’re dining outside.

4. OCOOPA Pocket Warmer

I got the OCOOPA Pocket Warmer on prime day and I’m surprised by how much I enjoy it. It’s portable and adorable, most importantly it does its job. I keep it in my pockets when I’m out and it keeps my fingers nice and warm. This device is TINY but it gives you the three heat options. When you’re not using it as a hand warmer it also doubles as a portable charger-- I love multi-functional tech! There are honestly so many unique pocket warmers out there, the one I linked below is adorable.

5. Heated insoles

HotHands Heated Insoles

Good heated insoles are hard to find. Trust me, go on Amazon and read “heated insole” reviews, most of them stop working after the first use or break apart. HotHands’ insoles are the highest rated heated insoles on Amazon with almost two thousand reviews. We all have days where our toes are slowly turning into ice and walking home gets a lot harder, this will definitely come in handy for snow days.

6. Ember Mug

I love a hot cup of matcha on any day. Just having the mug sit on my working desk with steam coming out is so comforting to look at. But with the outside temperature dropping, my drinks get cold easily too. *cue Ember Mug entrance* The Ember mug is a drink saver! It can hold your drink’s temperature for 1.5 hours at an exact temperature with its sleek design, with an inbuilt battery but also comes with a charging coasters. Now I can stare at my steaming matcha all day long. The reviews also praise its complementing App, which tracks your caffeine intake, syncs with Apple Health and is user friendly.
