Apple is adding picture-in-picture mode to the Apple TV

Apple is currently testing a feature that will allow Apple TV owners to browse through other content while still watching a show. With the upcoming launch, users will be able to shrink down any video into a corner of the screen in order to scroll through other tools without having to pause. The “Picture-in-Picture” mode—which is a part of tvOS 13—will also allow users to stream two shows at a time, if you’re into that kind of thing. But honestly, we can barely watch Big Little Lies and scroll through Instagram at the same time.

If you’ve ever used picture-in-picture mode on an iPad, this basically looks the same. Inside the smaller video window you’ll see options to maximize it back to full screen or exit out of the content entirely.
