No-cost, no-equipment classes that will help you stay fit at home

Listen up if the only weight you’re lifting is in the form of a blanket. Yes, gyms have been closed for some time, but that doesn’t mean your workout class is canceled. Tons of studios are offering real-time classes that you can live-stream from your bedroom. 

You know those boutique classes you’ve been wanting to try, but didn’t want to splurge on, many of these companies are offering sessions for free, meaning their once-pricey classes are no longer bringing in money for the companies and their instructors. pivoting from in-person to social media to host live-at home workouts. 

It wasn’t so long ago that exercising at home was the norm. Jane Fonda defined the genre in the 80s, now’s your time to bring out the tights. 

Planet Fitness is offering a daily free class via Facebook Live and is promoting paid workouts through its app.

Barry's is  on Instagram Live, offering two kinds of free classes on Instagram Live per day. 

Shock app is an alternative to a streaming class and geared towards women. They are currently offering a month free and provides alternate exercises if you don’t have a piece of equipment - or if you want a modified version. You can even change your program.

PopSugar Fitness features dozens of high intensity workout videos on YouTube ranging from cardio to twerking dance to stretch  to toning workouts from 5 to 35 minutes long each.

Working out through an app on your phone or on your television isn’t quite the same as getting to the gym, but if you can motivate yourself to start, and before you know it-- you'll never want to step foot into a gym again even after this quarantine is over.
