ZTE Blade Z Max: Big battery, big screen, dual-lens cameras, and $130

Do you ever feel like you have to compromise buying a really great phone because you're not feeling the high price tag? Now, you don’t have to. I'm about to tell you why the ZTE Blade Z Max is the hottest new phone on the market.

And the best part? It’s only $130. Yep, One. Three. Zero.

So let’s get straight into the specs, shall we?

The ZTE Blade Z Max runs on the latest version of Android 7.1 and comes with dual-lens rear cameras, because let’s be honest, one is just not enough. It’s equipped with a 16 megapixel lens with an additional 2 megapixel lens. That means you can take photos in a variety of ways. I’m no photographer, just an active IG’er. But I do love the portrait and monochrome mode. There’s even a fisheye option- no attachment lens needed!

Entertainment never looked better, thanks to the 6-inch full HD screen. The fingerprint sensor is also on the back so there’s even more room for the edge-to-edge display.

So you’re probably wondering, how’s the battery life?

Blade Z Max is packing... a super-large and long-last battery and promises up to 31 hours of talk time. And yes, just in case you were wondering, I really talk on the phone that much.

You can also keep the phone on standby for 22 days and charge on-the-go with Qualcomm's quick charge capabilities while texting or streaming.

One of my favorite features is the memory on this bad boy. While most phones are equipped with 16GB of memory, this phone comes with 32GB of internal memory, but is expandable up to 128 GB via a microSD card, so you can store all of your favorite photos, videos and songs and never miss a moment.

Obviously, this is not a big investment for all of its high-tech features. So is this my new favorite phone? Let’s break it down.

Here’s the good:

  • Unbeatable price ($130) that fits anyone’s budget

  • It’s super thin (one third of an inch), and the phone still fits perfectly in your palm and pocket

  • Dual-lens rear camera and great photo editing features

  • Long battery life: 31 hours of talk time in 1 charge

  • Bright, colorful 6-inch full-HD display

  • There is no annual contract or commitments, unlike other phones

Here’s the bad:

  • Performance can be slow

  • You're locked to MetroPCS

  • Picture quality is slightly pixelated

What’s the verdict?

The ZTE Blade Z Max for MetroPCS comes with some of the bells and whistles of the latest iPhone and Samsung, including a dual-lens camera, fingerprint sensor, beautiful 6-inch HD display and fast charge, for just $130. While it could use just a few tweaks on its performance (it’s not the Ferrari of phones), it’s a really smart phone for a really smart price.

So, Yay or Nay? YAY!
