The Latest Tech Headlines

WHAT THE TECH?

Here’s your weekly dose of tech Tuesday:

👉 @Microsoft is killing Internet Explorer in 2022 (didn’t see that one coming). Microsoft will be wanting you to use its Edge browser instead.

👉 An Israeli startup’s 3D imaging and AI may be the future of manicures. Yup. The machine will be able to identify your nail shape and activate a robotic arm that paints your nails. (Shut up and take all my money)

👉 @Snapchat is releasing augmented-reality (AR) “Spectacles”. These are glasses that project things in front of you. Think of an art gallery being projected onto the street & a guided tour. I’d love to see this.

👉 Is Netflix gunning for Nintendo? New reports say the site “is on the hunt for a senior executive to lead… a subscription-based video game service [like] Apple Arcade.” Can it work?

👉Let’s air things out. California just ruled that Uber and Lyft drivers must use electric cars by 2030—a move partly mandated by new reports of climate change.

👉Tory Burch and Nobel Prize-winning chemist Jennifer Doudna just launched a fellowship for female entrepreneurs in genomics, which gives women in science more access, funding... and hopefully, better looking lab coats?

👉 We’re all ears. Spotify is launching a concert series, with access to virtual shows by The Black Keys, girl in red, and T-Swift collaborator Jack Antonoff.
